We live in a world of violence, there is no doubt about that. Children today have unlimited access to any violent TV show, movie, song, and video game they want. And to make matters worse, they can do all this in the privacy of their own home! Very scary stuff. I guess when I was a kid in the late 70's and early 80's things seemed a little more innocent. or maybe we were. Tv shows, movies, music and games were so different. And there's the one thing you cant leave out if you are a child of the 80's. the ARCADE! it wasn't just the games that made it such a great place. it was the comradery with other players. In the same room, just trying to get the high score, or to see the next level. So, I decided to bring that feeling back. that's when I opened the 80's Action Arcade. At the 80's Action Arcade, we only have the classics we grew up with- to entertain a whole new generation! there's nothing like standing in front of a REAL ARCADE GAME and playing! this is the first (of many) 80's Action Arcades located at the Mellons restaurant in the Wakiva Riverwalk Promenade. it has seven fully restored classic arcade games from the 1980's (some extremely rare) ready to play!

Xybots, Hollywood crane, and a rare Swimmer!

Rope lights and other special lighting accent the room. we also will be putting up classic arcade memorabilia on the walls to give it a retro touch!

And if that's not enough, our own P.I.X.L. will be hosting his own radio show from his own

80's action arcade radio station, playing nonstop video game music!!!

 

We have been open at this location 6 months and business is great! we have customers who come in for dinner just to play in the arcade! and the complements have been amazing! everything from "I haven't seen that game in years- and that's my favorite!" to "I don't have to worry about what my kids play here!"
